The AUVSI New England chapter hosted part of its 2020 Autonomous Vehicle Summit (AVS) as a webinar. The webinar was titled “Building AI You can Trust for Autonomous Vehicles” and featured Prof Alex Wong, Chief Scientist at DarwinAI in Waterloo Canada, and fittingly was sponsored by the Consulate General of Canada in Boston”.
This was the chapter’s first virtual event, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and what a way to start. There were approx 100 attendees for the scheduled hour, and then due to interest 50 attendees stayed on to continue asking questions to Dr. Wong for an additional 30 mins.
Interestingly, unlike the normal in-person events held in the greater Boston, MA area, for the virtual event the attendees came from far afield, including, Kuwait, UAE, India, China, and from across the United States.

Prof. Wong went into detail about DarwinAI’s explainable AI engine known as Inquisitor, and is based on Explainable Design Automation.
