Exponent hosted approximately 30 AUVSI New England members at their impressive facility in Natick, MA on Septmber 24th 2015.
The discussions began with an overview of Test Facilities and Capabilities at Exponent, which included details of their vehicle testing facility in Phoenix, AZ by Dr. Paul Verghese. Dr. Vijay Somandepalli discussed the various advanced Robotic systems Exponent had developed from the perspective of using commercial of the shelf (COTS) as the basis of their solution sets, achieving lower costs and faster time to market. Dr. Carmine Senatore and Dr. Ryan Yee then discussed the Vehicle-to-Vehicle integration and autonomous vehcle research and development activities taking place at Natick.
The group were treated to tours of the facility, learnng about the unquiue approach to failure analysis that has enabled Exponent to be sought after for almost 50 years.
The assembled group enjoyed the opportunity to network amongst other like minded attendees,and stayed well after the published adjournment time.
The New England Chapter of the AUVSI is made up of over 250 members in the New England region.
